SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Health officials ordered the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que to close on Thursday for at least 72 hours after investigating scores of reports of gastrointestinal illnesses associated with patrons who ate at the popular biker bar and restaurant.
Onondaga County Health Commissioner Cynthia B. Morrow was cited as saying late Thursday afternoon the health department had received reports of around 270 people, including some employees, who had become sick since eating at the Dinosaur over the weekend.
The source of the illness was under investigation and laboratory studies were pending. Morrow said it likely was related to a viral illness. An inspection of the facility did not reveal a source for the outbreak.
